One Day More

Tonight at Alanon I was talking to a friend about my imminent departure and we both thought of this song from Les Mis at the same time:

One day more!
Another day, another destiny.
This never-ending road to Calvary;
These men who seem to know my crime
Will surely come a second time.
One day more!

I did not live until today.
How can I live when we are parted?

One day more.

Tomorrow you'll be worlds away
And yet with you, my world has started!

One more day all on my own.

Will we ever meet again?

One more day with him not caring.

I was born to be with you.

What a life I might have known.

And I swear I will be true!

But he never saw me there!

One more day before the storm!

Do I follow where she goes?

At the barricades of freedom.

Shall I join my brothers there?

When our ranks begin to form

Do I stay; and do I dare?

Will you take your place with me?

The time is now, the day is here

One day more!

I love Les Mis. And I love that I'm about to take my own brand of revolution to a space where it is more widely accepted. I don't know exactly what that space looks like, but I trust that it will be revealed:

Tomorrow we'll discover
What our God in Heaven has in store!
One more dawn
One more day
One day more!
